Q: What data does Wayday collect?

Wayday records GPS routes during trips, accesses your photo library to pin photos on the map, and reads step count and distance from HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). All data is stored locally on your device by default.

Q: Does Wayday track my location in the background?

Yes, during active trip recording only. Background location is used solely to record your walking route and stops automatically when you end the trip. Location tracking is never active outside of trip recording.

Q: Can I use Wayday without an internet connection?

Yes. Core recording features work offline. All trip data, routes, and photos are stored locally. Maps require connectivity for initial tile loading, but Mapbox caches tiles for offline use after first load.

Q: What is the difference between Free and Premium?

Free: Last 3 trips, 20 photos per trip, basic health metrics, standard map style. Premium ($2.99/mo or $19.99/yr): Unlimited trips and photos, full health metrics, satellite and custom map styles, cloud backup and cross-device sync.

Q: How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual trips within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. Premium users with cloud sync can request cloud data deletion by emailing [email protected].

Q: Does Wayday access my health data?

Only step count and walking distance, read-only, from HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). This data is never shared with third parties and is only displayed within the app. You can deny health permission — all other features still work.
